About
Sarah Jane Sindler, owner and designer of KING RELD, stumbled into crafting jewelry by a turn of miraculous events. Sindler began carving waxes with her friend Tricia Kilnkhamer in her home in 2013 and getting them cast, primarily in sterling silver by Ira Helfer of David I. Helfer Jewelers in Pittsburgh, PA. Sarah began working with Ira, a third-generation jeweler in Pittsburgh's historic jewelry district to create the first generation of KING RELD jewelry and, in turn, she was able to begin a 5-year apprenticeship with the company that concluded in 2019. Sarah is an avant-garde creator of one-of-a-kind, ready-made, and custom fine jewelry she’s made at her studio at Brewhouse Arts in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's Southside. Sindler has instructed her techniques and classes at Protohaven, Center for Contemporary Craft, and Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media, and Touchstone Center for Craft and her work has been exhibited by the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG), as well as many other group and solo shows. She is a member of SNAG and the Precious Collective of International Art Jewelers. Her work has been commissioned and collected by clients both locally and nationally.
